Daiwa’s big secret is finally out and all will be revealed at the start of EFTTEX today!
The Japanese fishing tackle manufacturer has gone to extreme lengths to keep its big EFTTEX launch under wraps until the opening of the show.
Now it has been revealed that it is the new Cast’izm BR 25A – a reel that is set to delight carp anglers across Europe and beyond. Developed in close consultation with Korda UK, extensive top secret research, field testing and numerous refinements have resulted in a highly compact, distance casting BR.
Full and finished samples have recently seen action in the hands of Team Korda UK pro-staffer, Darrell Peck, with spectacular results during filming. Maintaining that compact shape thanks to the 25mm stroke, Daiwa has redesigned the Bite’n’ Run mechanism to operate within the reduced body size.
Casting distances are achieved with ease thanks to the balance of a shallow spool taper and high diameter, the Cast’izm concept.
The innovation also extends to the water barrier of the unique Mag Sealed within the rotor. This halts the intrusion of debris and fine abrasives and ensures that the rotation and gear meshing remain protected and smooth for longer.
Thanks to the 5.3:1 and over 200mm circumference of a filled spool, the Cast’izm BR will crank up to 107cm per handle turn. The manual bail closure is supported by Castlock, securing it in place during the cast, letting the angler apply smooth and controlled closure. BR also features Daiwa’s HIP line clip and is supplied with a spare spool.
