DALLAS (May 27, 2004) — This Sunday tune in to “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” to listen to hosts Keith Lebowitz and Tony Casillas interview two professional anglers from the Wal-Mart FLW Tour. First up will be Yamaha pro Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La., who is arguably one of the best anglers on the tour right now and is currently ranked No. 2 in the points standings. Next up will be Team Banana Boat pro Kevin Vida of Clare, Mich., who is currently ranked 48th in the tour’s standings going into the last qualifying event of the season. Rounding out the lineup will be regular guest and Ranger pro-staff guide David Vance.
Hackney, who has 20 top-10 finishes in FLW Outdoors events to his credit, has had an exceptional year exemplified by two top-10 FLW Tour finishes. Prior to this season, he had no top-10s on the FLW Tour. He will talk with Lebowitz and Casillas about his phenomenal season and the one chance he has left to pull ahead in the points standings.
Vida, whose last and only appearance at the FLW Tour Championship was in 2002, is due for a return; however, he has little latitude for mistakes – only the top 48 anglers will qualify for the 2004 FLW Tour Championship. He will talk about how he plans to remain in the top 48 and head to Birmingham, Ala.’s Logan Martin Lake for the Aug. 11-14 championship presented by Castrol, which will award the winning pro the sport’s largest award -- $500,000 cash.
Vance, known as one of the best guides in Texas, will share with listeners the hot spots for fishing in the Lone Star State over the upcoming weeks.
