FPT heads to Clearlake and big fish country

KELSEYVILLE, Ca. - On the heels of what has been perhaps the longest “big fish” streak” in bass fishing history, Clearlake will host yet another big event this weekend that many bet will deliver another round of “big fish” for those competitors looking for their first double-digit fishing experience.

The Future Pro Tour, hosting it's 3rd event of the season this Saturday at the world famous Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa, will provide it's anglers just such an opportunity, providing a good chance for many to bust a 25+ pound limit, and increase their chance of also capturing the prestigious the FPT Clearlake title.

“The bite is just ridiculous right now”, commented Sieg Taylor, a Clearlake resident an FLW pro that has had a good measure of success on Clearlake and many of the big events that come to the west. “Jig fish, swimbait fish, crankin'…you name it they will bite it!...You Future Pro's are really in for a treat this weekend”, he added, flashing the toothy smile he has become so well known for.

“Spring has indeed sprung, and with it, look for some fish to still be on beds, some off beds, and some to still be moving up”, said 2-time B.A.S.S Elite series champion Ish Monroe, who did well at the last B.A.S.S Elite series event. “The key is to be READY for the big bites - when they come, as when you are dealing with a big field of anglers, and the pressure is on, it is imperative to capitalize and convert every big fish opportunity to do well”, he added further.

And Future Pro Tour anglers will have plenty opportunity to hear sound advice on how to catch big bass in the spring on Clearlake as there will be many pro anglers in attendance at Friday evening's optional pre-registration seminar to be held at Konocti Harbor and Spa's conference center from 4 to 7pm. Seasoned pros such as Ralph Harkins, Jerry Tilton, Tony Franceschi, Jimmy Reese, Larry Hemphill, and 2007 Vanity Cup champion Mark Crutcher (who set an all-time two-day record of 74.20 pound), will be on hand to provide one-on-one instruction to all FPT anglers that ask for it.

And it's not too late to get in on all the action! You can sign up at the optional pre-registration seminar, or the morning of the event – at the Konocti conference center from 4-6am. Entry fee is just $80 per team, with a limited membership fee of only $5 per person made available for those that may just want to try us out.

So what are you waiting for?? Get your swimbait rods ready, and get ready for some big fish action, as we plan on televising this event for Comcast Sports Net TV in just a few weeks!

Hope to see you all there!
