The day got off to a start as the field of 14 anglers gathered at Berryessa Sporting Goods for check in and for the boater – nonboater draw. The field launched and blasted off at safe light to what looked like awesome fishing catching weather.
Back at Markley Cove the boats weighed in a total of 65 bass that weighed 101.45 pounds. Tony Franceschi took first place with a five fish limit weighing 9.89 pounds with a 2.15 big fish.
Second place went to the last Angler of the Year in the region, Bruce Carpenter, who weighed in a solid five fish limit of 9.63 pounds. Bruce won the Big Fish award for the event with a 2.45 spotted bass.
Third place was taken by James Yoo weighing in a 9.36 pound limit with a 2.33 big fish.
