Novato, Calif. – Powell Rods is proud to announce the addition of 2007 Bassmaster Women’s Tour Champion winner Pam Martin-Wells to the Powell Rods Pro Staff. Martin-Wells is a 20 year tournament angler who is one of the most consistent and feared anglers ever to enter a Women’s fishing event.Martin-Wells started the 2007 season off in high fashion after placing second at the season opening event at Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas. and followed it up with her historic victory at the 2007 Women’s Bassmaster Tour Championship at Alabama’s Lake Mitchell.
“I had been with the same rod company for 20 years prior to joining Powell,” Martin-Wells said from her home in Bainbridge, GA. “From the moment I picked up my first Powell Rod, I knew that I had found a tool that was going to help take my fishing to the next level.” She said that quality construction was the key. “I have never felt a rod that was so light and sensitive, it helps me feel bites I know I was missing before,” she continued. “Besides, getting to know Keith Bryan [President of Powell Rods] and his staff has been great; I couldn’t be happier.”
