Veterans Pat Clement and Bret Leber take 3rd day big fish prize

Kelseyville Ca, - When veteran anglers Pat Clement and Bret Leber made the decision to invest some of their FLW National Guard pre-fishing time, for the chance at earning some cash during the Vanity Cup’s big fish/pre-fish contest, it’s a good bet they had no idea how fast their investment would pay off.

For on Wednesday, as the three o’clock hour drew near, they brought their Ranger Z20 off pad just short of the 5 mph buoys, and stormed to the weigh-in scales set up daily at Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa, to produce the biggest bass of the day - a beautiful 10.04 pounder, that will net them $1,500 dollars cash even before the Vanity Cup event begins this Saturday.

“Were not saying where or how”, stated the jubilant team from Cottonwood, and Dixon California respectively. We located a bunch of good fish and think that with the good weather predicted for this weekend, we have a good shot at winning this thing”, they added.

As anglers arrive daily to Kelseyville, the excitement created by this inaugural event continues to build as many teams that love to fish Clearlake in the early spring know just what kind of giant bass can be caught when a steady diet of warm weather feeds the Sonoma coast. “As I was driving up here the trees throughout the valley were in full bloom, and I know full well what that means..big fish time!”, noted Ralph Harkins, Battery Systems pro-staffer and 2-time W.O.N. Bass team angler of the year.

There are still two more days of pre-fishing for cash awards to win before the tournament begins this weekend, so don’t miss out. We will take sign-ups up until the morning of the event at Konocti Harbor Resort for all that want to join in on the fun!
