Waterproof SeaLife AquaPod Mini

MOORESTOWN, N.J. — Before ultra-compact cameras came about, they were called monopods; fishermen called them camera poles; and today, they are referred to by some as "selfie sticks". Designed to add new perspective to outdoor adventure photography, SeaLife has introduced the AquaPod Mini as an ultra-rugged alternative to the new generation of camera sticks.

Initially designed as a camera extension for the diving environment, the AquaPod Mini is the perfect camera platform for any outdoor expedition that demands water and corrosion resistance with maximum durability. While the versatile camera pole isn't a "selfie stick", the AquaPod Mini will provide a great perspective if you do want to angle the camera towards yourself. Designed to be used on the water—and in the water for fully waterproof cameras like SeaLife's own Micro HD camera or GoPro's Hero action cameras—the AquaPod Mini does not include a smart-phone mount. SeaLife developed the original, longer AquaPod when it became clear that getting a good fish photo underwater is a lot easier using a camera platform than trying to get close enough yourself. For fishermen, the AquaPod offers access to the water that you'd only get if you jumped in—it's so easy to simply hold the camera over the side of the boat with the AquaPod.

This compact and travel-friendly AquaPod Mini offers an anodized aluminum body, stainless steel hardware and rubberized grip, providing users with a rugged, ergonomically designed product for land and sea that captures both video and still images from various perspectives. Extending from 15.5 inches out to a maximum of 38 inches, the AquaPod Mini is the ideal travel companion to capture all those memories.

The AquaPod Mini is available at SeaLife dealers for a suggested retail price of $49.95. The original SeaLife AquaPod—measuring 18 inches when compressed and 53 inches when fully extended—is available for a suggested retail of $69.95. Both AquaPods mount all cameras with a standard 1/4-20 tripod mount and include a tilt-adapter for GoPro cameras. Adapters for a variety of smart phones are also widely available.
