    Monday marks the beginning of the third annual, two-day Bass Cat National Team Championship, presented by Mercury Marine, a no-entry, by invitation only tournament put on by Bass Cat’s Rick Pierce and other members of the “BCB Family.” Nine teams have qualified via an equal number of regional events, and Pierce intends to put their analytical and physical fishing skills to the test, with a format that differs from those presented in 2013 and 2014.     SCI wants to remind all Texans to vote YES on Proposition 6 tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3. Proposition 6 would amend the Texas Constitution by adding the right to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife to the Texas Bill of Rights. It also guarantees that wildlife management decisions will continue to be based on sound-scientific principles and not emotionalism driven by Humane Society of the United States and other anti-hunting organizations.

Hanselman’s three-day total of 15 bass weighing 46 pounds, 11 ounces earned him $50,000 and a berth into the Forrest Wood Cup in the event that featured 171 of the best semi-professional bass-fishing anglers from across the country.

    Reward Offered for Return of Sturgeon Tags from California Delta

    State and federal fisheries officials are asking for public assistance and offering a $20 reward for the return of each satellite tag from green sturgeon. The satellite tags, which are programmed to release from the fish after a predetermined time, are most likely to be found along the open ocean coastal portions of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, and the shores and waters of San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay and the Delta.
