225 hpdi spark plugs

I just put new plugs in my HPDI the olny thing I didn't do is gap them.. Only because it seemed impossible and the old ones looked like they where not gaped .. Every thing feels ok when I'm running plus better water pressure.. The one thing that I think change is that the motor sounds louder .. I don't know if it's just all in my head or it's because I didn't gap the plugs? Anybody been down this road?
