GRANITE BAY, Ca - The only things that parallel the steadily rising water levels at Folsom Lake, are the steadily increasing anticipation levels amongst anglers that know how incredible the popular Sacramento metro area reservoir can be for catching double-digit bass in the spring.
And as the 3rd annual Bass Pro Shops Open returns to Folsom Lake May 19-20th, the opportunity for northern California anglers to catch BIG bedding females, late staging fish, and post spawners - while competing in an exciting, high profile, low-cost, event that is close-to-home, will never be better.
The BIG challenge will be that after day one of competition, the field will be reduced to only ten teams, and that group of "Super Ten" finalists will then drive from Folsom Lake to the Bass Pro Shops store in Rocklin, for a "B.A.S.S style" drive by weigh-in that will see an enormous crowd of spectators, (most of which who have never seen big bags of bass live) witness just what kind of fish can be caught at Folsom Lake.
This event is open to anglers of all skill levels, features a very affordable $180 per team entry fee, a 1st place grand prize consisting of a new fully-rigged Bass Tracker 40th Anniversary Heritage Edition boat, plus cash prizes spread out to the top 12 places!
In addition, it will feature great regional TV coverage from KMAX (Good Day Sacramento), a HUGE BPS Outdoor World EXPO in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot on Sunday, with product demos, free giveaways, food, music, a big raffle for all spectators, PLUS a FREE "Kids Fun Zone" that will feature a "live" fishing pond - presented by The Informative Fisherman.
Registration is now open for this event, so SAVE THE DATE and call the Angler's Press Outdoors offices today to secure your spot in what will be the most exciting event of the season!
See you there!
