798ci HD SI for trolling motor

Post by M3AN Bass »

Hello all,

I am finally getting ready to install my 798. My question is does anyone have experience with the trolling motor mount adaptors? The unit came with the transom mount transducer but I am using this unit on the trolling motor. Obviously I'd rather pay $25 for the adaptor as opposed to $200+ for the trolling motor transducer.

Thanks for any advice!

The adapter is not as durable. I personally like the www.transducershieldandsaver.com mount and protector.

Thanks for the response Doug. After reading some reviews on Humminbird's adaptor offering I opted to go with an adaptor from Rig Rite Marine. Installation was super easy and unlike Humminbird's it's made from aluminum and powder coated. The 798 is awesome, now I just need to figure out how to take advantage of all it has to offer.
