Armada 2x2 of 4x4?

Hello all, I am planning to purchase a boat, but before i need to get myself a truck

... My question is, can I get a 2x2 or do I need a 4x4 to trail a bass boat? I am just contemplating since it cost 5k more for the 4x4. Thnx in advance

The only time you use the 4x4 is when you can,t get traction pulling your boat out of the water some ramps can get mossey or in the winter icee, some ramps are just slick. Hope this helps

I don't ever recall needing the 4WD for towing but it's nice to have just in case. I wouldn't be without it, not for towing, but because I use it for other things. I've heard some people say they get by with a limited slip differential so I would at least get that.
