cables for downloading

Hi Ken, i just bought the structure scan and i need to update my hds 10 to the 2.5 version or better. Whats the cable called to hook the unit to my computer called ? I have been on lowrance website and cant find nothing about it. also do i really need to run a switch for the structure scan.

Go to http://www.lowrance.com, click on Downloads and then click on Product Software Updates. Go down the list and click on HDS ALL units 3.5 software update. When you do you will see the instructions on how to download the update to the card.

To update your HDS10 (or any HDS unit), with the unit off you insert the card in the slot on the unit, (use the slot on the right it's a faster reader), press the power button and as the unit comes on it will automatically update itself. When the update is complete, instructions will come on the screen that tells you to remove any cards and press the power button to reboot. When you press the power key, hold it down until the blue screen with the Lowrance logo comes up, then release the key and you are done.

When you wire the Structure Scan power make sure that when you turn off the main breaker, the power to the buss board you wired the LSS-1 to is off also.
