Can I run 2 down scanning transducers?

I have a HDS 7 Gen 2 Touch.

currently I have the down scan transducer and the side scan transducer on the back of my boat, but I want to add a 2nd down scan to my trolling motor. How will it hook up to the Lowrance Unit, or will I have to switch cables depending on which transducer I want to use?

So I'm just a bit confused as Lowrance doesn't make a XDCR with just a side scanning element.
If you used the HDI transducer #000-10976-001 on the TM you would still have 83/200 kHz broadband sonar as well as the DownImaging. The footprint of the DownImaging element is not cone shaped like the 2D. It's much wider and thinner. I believe you could run both DownImaging units at the same time in depths up to about 50 feet. If you did experience some cross-talk, you could simply place the console unit in Stand-By.

If you have the current update in your unit, hit the power key and to the left of "Power Off" is "Stand By", just hit this and the unit goes into standby. When you are ready for the unit to be back in use, hit the power key again and just hit he "X" in the top right of the pop up menu to close it. The unit is immediately back on.

As for having Structure Scan on the trolling motor, Jim Slusher, the creator of the Comfortroll recessed trolling motor pan has a new product to mount an LSS-2 transducer on the trolling motor along with a puck for Broadband Sonar. This way you don't need that terrible Ethernet cable network to see Structure Scan from the back of the boat where the image is already at least 20 feet behind you. If you have an LSS-2 transducer on the trolling motor, the Down, Right and Left scan images on your screen are from the bottom under your trolling motor!
