There is a wide variety of swimbaits to throw on the delta. I would recommend a 6" Black Dog Lunker Punker in either white(injected) or chartreuse shad(wood), MS Slammer, 6" Osprey Top Hook, Mission Fish, and some of the Big Hammer Paddle Tails. You can cover all scenarios with this kind of arsenal.

I just finished enjoying my morning walk to 14 Mile Slough behind the Brookside homes and was throwing the Robo Easy Shad hooking into a school of undersize stripers. This size swimbait is just the right size to imitate a jumbo shad out here on the delta. I can't wait to hook into a 10 lb. largemouth or a 20 lb. striper with my new swimbait rod I got for my birthday.

Another softswimbait that has been kept a little quiet is the Trashfish which has been getting all the attention up at Clear. Great since you can vary the weight (unlike a Mission Fish) and throw it either in open water or even flip it into heavy cover. The LC Hitch color has been money for both Stripers and Largies!

River2Sea Whopper Plopper 130 in Monkey Butt. No I'm not kidding try landbigfish.com or Tackle Wharehouse not realy a swimbait but works great on the delta even better at night.
