OSHA or occupational safety and health administration is a federal agency of the United States Department of Labour, it is based on the Occupational Health and Safety Act. OSHA ensures safe and healthy working conditions for workers in various parts of the world. It enforces standards on entities by providing training, outreach and education. OSHA’s outreach programs focus on identifying and preventing hazards at work, it educates workers and employers. The program also provides information on worker’s rights and employer’s responsibility. OSHA issues health and safety regulations at work, these regulations include the need for protective equipment and safety procedures. Employers should assert their responsibility to provide the protective gear to their employees. Helmets are mandatory for workers in construction sites.
