Fishing Oroville Lake 04/18/2016

Post by Tom Gronwall »

Launched at 6:30am at Lime saddle, stopped fishing about 10:30 am. Fished the west fork area out in the Nelson bar area. Damn, lots and lots of wood in this general area, be careful. Fished some old spots used to fish a few years ago and found fish at those locations. About half the fish on wacky weightless Senko's, the other half on roboworms, texas rigs. Found the better fish came from the senko's, the roboworms got much smaller fish today, a couple barely big enough to be fish. Managed just 18 fish today, largest at 14 1/2" with the rest 10-14". Water looked lousy in this area, much nicer in the middle fork. Seeing lots of carp in shallows, must be spawn time for them or they like eating the green growth that went under water.
