HdS-12 G3 Image Refresh Issues

Having issues with this unit at the screen mapping seems to refresh every 3-5 minutes as if it were having to redraw the entire map. This process takes about 1 minute to complete. For example: Unit has map zoomed out to say... 10 miles, North up, and then while driving, the screen blanks, and redraws which take about a minute. It repeats a few minutes later. That's a lot of time when using the GPS and mapping. I am running a Navionics chip, but when switched to Lowrance, it still happens. I don't have Insight. I have recently updated the unit to the latest version and still having issues. Appreciate any help you can provide.

This is not something I have dealt with before. I would recommend you call Lowrance Customer Care and they may have experience with this issue.

Since you have the current software update, you could try to do a soft reset to see if this would reset the unit to run smoothly. If this does not correct the problem, call Customer Service.

A soft reset will reset the unit to factory default settings. You will need to redo your overlay data on each screen as this will be reset to factory defaults. Any Waypoints, Routes or Trails you may have will not be erased.

To do a soft reset, start with the unit off. Press and hold the Pages key. Press and release the Start key while holding the Pages key until the unit if finished booting up, approx. 45 seconds.
