I have a question and need some help. I am looking at buying a hds gen 3 touch and was wondering Which transducer is best with this unit. And will the spotlight scan transducer run down and structure scan

Do you have a price ceiling? I'm using an Airmar TM185C-HW but you may not want to spend that kind of scratch.
I also use the TotalScan transducer for my stern unit and works really great! You can go with the lower priced Airmar TM150bl which gives some pretty impressive results also. The Gen3 units will CHIRP the regular transducers which is an improvement over the non-chirpped signal but not as great as the Airmar dedicated single band CHIRP ducers.
News for the Bass guys from Airmar indicates they are close to shipping their new 'shoot-thru hull' CHIRP transducers.
