The California B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak crew is hosting a “Frogs Only” Tournament on the California Delta on Saturday, 7/10/21. This will be a 3 fish limit with anglers fishing frogs only to include hollow body and soft body frogs. The California Delta is widely known for frog fishing tournaments but this is the first time it has been done on a big scale for the kayak anglers.
This will be Garrett Clark’s (long time Delta enthusiast and avid tournament kayak bass angler) first run at Tournament Director. “This is meant to be a fun event that will challenge the anglers with very limited tackle options. We set the limit at 3 fish and brought the entry fee down to $50 with a $10 big fish option to make it more relaxed and feasible for a technique specific tournament”, said Clark.
This is the second event for the CA B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series for the 2021 season. “We wanted to give our members a return on their investment for their annual membership fees. We polled our members for location and they chose Paradise/Kings. Member feedback is very important to us”, commented Clark.
Contestants will be subject to gear inspections prior to the start of competition to verify only authorized frog lures will be used. Once the inspection is complete, the angler will receive their identifier. Catch, Picture, Release format will be used through the TourneyX app.
