Here’s a great saying from John Collins, who invented the RP knot (he’s too modest to claim it under his own name) - “if you can’t tie a knot, tie it a lot”. Practice, practice, practice. And he’s talking about giant tuna, not little bass.

If you can’t tie a knot under Fishing conditions the knot is worthless. Fishing conditions include wind, cold, rain, poor light, boat motion etc.
FC is a good knot but everyone suggesting to burn the tag ends has never tried that under Fishing conditions were burning the main line or leader is catastrophic.

agreed! Fishing conditions is different than in your garage. I had several knots down until... I was out in the HEAVY winds and was too difficult with light leader/flouro.
