Lake map chips for Loweance

Post by Jhampel »

Looking for opinions..... I have HDS7 Gen 2 Touch. Best map cards? Lowrance? Navionics? Any advice is appreciated. TIA, John.

The only mapping I use outside of the pre loaded mapping in my HDS units is Insight Genesis.

You can go to You Tube and search for videos of "Insight Genesis" or go to www.lowrance.com and click on the Insight Genesis link to learn more.

Here are some screen shots of my Lowrance HDS using a Navionics + card. I would suggest studying the FREE Navionics web app https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en to compare the charts. Navionics has the most mapping, data and access to an app for your phone and tablet. I can connect my HDS via Bluetooth to my phone and tablet.

If you want the best....Get a Navionics Card.

I also like the Insight Genesis mapping. I used to use both IG and Navionics but for my areas of boating/fishing Insight Genesis now has the best coverage. I also use IG for creating my own charts for lakes too small or 'out of the way' for the mapping companies to survey. And now with IG's ability to store multiple maps on a single SD card, it's even better!
