Mounting Structurescan?

Post by Morgan »

What is the best location for mounting the structurescan transducer - The folding bracket included, a bracket that attaches to a jackplate, or direct to the hull (under the sponsons or step as they call it)? Or even though the instructions say not to, on the very bottom, what about that location?

Does Mounting to the jackplate get interference from turbulence or any problems being farther away from the other transducer for overlays?

Thanks,
Morgan

I used the stainless bracket and mounted to the transom up on the step, in front of the jack plate. If this location is choosen, be sure that the jack plate when lowered doesn't block the side view of the ducer. You won't get a full left/right view. The other two locations have been used and those guys haven't complained about anything.

As for the location in relation to the Broadband sonar transducer for overlay, you are only talking about a couple feet of distance. This is not noticeable in any overlay view in my experience.
