Depending on which lakes you're really interested in, look at the Lowrance Fishing Hotspots Pro or the Navionics maps.

I have the Fishing Hotspots Elite (now discontinued?) and they work well for McClure, Pardee, Camanche and others. These have contours and is just like the Fishing Hotspots maps you buy in paper.

The "Pro" series have some enhanced maps of many other lakes like New Melones, New Hogan, Oroville, etc ... but may not work for older GPS systems. Check the Lowrance for more details.
