If you have permission from a resident (legal) to be able to fish the lake, can you put a full size Bassboat on it? or are there restrictions as to what kind of boat is allowed?
Thanks,
Jim
Lake Mission Viejo - question
Re: Lake Mission Viejo - question
You have to provide proof of insurance for the boat. They will also need to inspect the boat and provide you with a sticker. Check with the lake office or the website for all the rules. I know that you need extra insurance coverage for boats on that lake.

Re: Lake Mission Viejo - question
first and foremost You have to be a member, then insured with LMV listed as additionally insured on your policy (i think $300,000 coverage) and yes they will check you especially if your a new boat on the lake. boats arent supposed to be longer then 20 ft. (which is why i bought a 18 1/2) but they dont really enforce that. You can always just rent a boat and fish with your member? You wont need a fancy boat.

203DCX,
You have to be a member to put your boat on the water. If your a member:
Boat Registration
Boating registration applications may be obtained at the Lake Administration Office. All boats must be inspected by the Lake Manager or delegate prior to issuance of a Registration Permit (decal). Prescribed insurance forms must be received by the Lake Administration prior to issuance of boat permits. The registration permit will be placed on the starboard outboard stern of each boat. Each year on January 1, all boats must be re-registered. Re-registration begins in November of the preceding year.
Boat Registration:
Any boat not displaying a current boat registration sticker by February 1st of each calendar year will be subject to impoundment without notice. Impounded boats will be removed from the lake and will be subject to a daily storage fee until registration is issued.
Boat Insurance
Certificate of insurance must include: $300,000 liability coverage (bodily injury/property damage); LMVA listed as "Additional Insured;" statement of expiration date or "continuous" on policy; description of boat (i.e. 18.5 feet rowboat).
Boat Lengths
Maximum length for single-hulled sailboats is 18.5 feet and 21 feet for a runabout or rowboat.
15 Foot Rule
Boats must remain at least 15 feet from any private dock or bulkhead area around the Lake, designated swimming areas and windsurfing areas at North and East beaches. This includes Mallorca, Tres Vistas, Finisterra and San Marino.
