Diamond Valley
Diamond Valley
Long drive for me , will I get hastled if I park and sleep at the gate ? Also how safe is that area ?
Re: Diamond Valley
It's a pretty isolated area, so it is very safe in my opinion. I've slept in line in my motorhome, as well as in my Tahoe, without incident. Last time I was there they had overnight security guards for the worksites, and they may still be there now.
Re: Diamond Valley
Ron, Its no problem sleeping and waiting in line at DVL. MWD has done such a tremendous job in improving the sourounding area it has changed the environment for the better. The local police and sherriff will pass by several times in the night and they will not mind you being parked on the side of the road.
Use caution and keep your doors locked and your gear stowed and you will have no problem at all. Besides, you are going to need a good nights rest if youre fishing DVL this time of year. The fishing and the catching have been increddible. Good luck, Big Ed!

It'll be nice when the campground finally gets built.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the campground to arrive. Just my 2 cents.

I keep hearing that...

Re: Diamond Valley
Just watch out for the kangaroo rats, I have heard that they can carry a small child away. DVL's version of the "chupacabra"

Re: Diamond Valley
camp site? other marina? ha thats funny..... the best thing they've done was build the water park.. DVL will be a zoo when that opens. Cant wait to see how many kids get bite by snakes. they slither into rental boats at night awaiting lucky fisherman in the morning, whats going to stop them from slither into water slides. I wish the lakes here in so cal, were like Arizona lakes. you could camp anywhere around the lake, fish all night and shore your boat next to your tent. Theres nothing better then waking up in the morning and pushing your boat into the water and your on the lake!

The water park opened last year. Mostly a pool with a big slide.
