when is 14+lbs for 5 good

When they are 5 smallmouth that went 14+ on the delta. does this suprise anyone other than me. I'am a delta idiot. but today at the bottom of the tide just past the oxbow marina i got 8 smallmouth with the biggest going 3.10 and the other 4 close or at 3lbs. the rest of the day was filled with a mix 1-2lb dinks.
