Hooked On Fishing, Not On Drugs, Chico event

OK guys, it's that time of year again.
Here in Chico, we are finally getting the lead from the old shooting range cleaned up, and after a two-year cancellation, the big "Hooked On Fishing, Not On Drugs" kid's fishing day will be held on May 21 at Horseshoe Lake in Upper Bidwell Park.
This is the world's largest yes that's right, one-day children's fishing event.
We expect between 2,500 and 3,000 or more kids to show up.
We are in desperate need of skilled anglers to act as "fishing coaches" for the kids.
With the massive number of kids, even 100 expert anglers would not be enough.
Anybody near Chico is also needed on "rigging night", Thursday May 19, when we rig up the 600 loaner rods.
Giving up a nice sunny Saturday in May is hard I know, but it is important.
Getting kids into fishing is a must if our sport is to survive.
