This weekends anticipated record spring run off

Post by Randy Turner »

With record run off anticipated in every river that feeds the delta this weekend, what effect, if any, do you think it will have on the delta this weekend. Particularly the north delta.
Thanks

And I began to see some of this Wednesday, the area to the north, far west and east of the Sacramento arm is gonna git an influx of muddy, cold water. The area we were in up around Lindsey & Prospect was very stained and the temps were 60-61. The fish we caught, were all pre-spawners. At a period of time where we've had a distorted spawn season on the river, the north and north west area of the river system has been delayed more than is normal. These types of conditions will either slow the bite more than what it currently is, or it could very well trigger a feeding frenzy fer a few days.

The majority of the river system off the San Jaquine, will prolly not be affected much by this influx, other than we may find much higher levels of water at both the high and low tides. This could be a possitive thing for those anglers who fish the troughs, along the banks and islands when the tide is high. They will have extended fishing exposure in these areas. Will the bite be better because of this, it's post spawn and hard ta tell.
