What brand truck do you like ?

My two tow vehicles are a SRT 10 Dodge 550 HP and a H2. Gas mileage sucks but nothing comes even close to the towing capability of the dodge. Of course I am completely nuts and no one is going to buy an H2. The SRT 10 will go from 0 to 60 AND stop quicker than any of them as its brakes are huge.

I just talked to the service manager at TT and they said they are about to fire you as a customer something about being a
pushy SOB and cut me in front of the line stuff

Go Ford or Toyota they are pretty much the same truck both are
great trucks and get pretty close to the same fuel mileage...Dodge
gas trucks get horrible gas mileage according to all my buddies.

It is 2min away from my house, but no plus 15yrs at ford is hard to
give up especially when your job is to take customers hunting and

2007, Ford, F-450, Diesel, 4 WHL DR, AUTO, Larret, 4 dr, with all of the bells and whisels, about 15 to the gal when towing, 18 or better hiway.

We watch the chev's, dodges, hummers, etc in our rer-view mirror when we go up the grade, in drive.

When towing 40 foot 5th wheel toy hauler, loaded with sandrail & 3 quads to the desert for a week, average about 10 to the gal.

Toyota, Chevy, or Dodge.... in that order... and I recommend something on the heavy duty side... not the k1500, even if it is 4x4... you might want an in bed camper, and that is a sweet setup and will pay for itself in hotel fees... especially nice if you brak down on the side of the road and get abandoned with the boat you were towing as a favor... <Wink>

I'm pulling with a Silverado 4x4 with a 5.7 L Vortec... It's decent... very plush ride with the sound insullated cab etc... When I bought it, it was down to a Tundra or a Silverado.. the Silverado won by price, by a hair...

I'm on a fence for the next one.. I've always been into American Steel and Muscle... So I might go with a mid 70's stepside 4x4 and drop in a brand new engine, tranny, rear end, after stripping it down and building it back from the ground up.. trick it out, custom job... no smog requirements, etc.... but if I am feeling lazy, I'll go look at a new Tundra or Silverado.

I'm an admitted Ford hater.. Can stand Ford... Ugly as sin and I've had way too many problems with Fords to ever consider one again... Even had problems with the Muscle cars.. 66 fastback... it was a cherry ride, but I could never chase the ghost out of it. It always had something going bad... even with a brand new engine and tranny... but that's all good.. it was stolen and my nightmare is over.

I like the muscle era of Mopar.. but any moron tells me their new truck has a Hemi is full of it... Those things are not Hemi's.. I have owned Hemi's... The real Hemi's were indestructable.... however the 440 magnum and the 727 tranny was pretty sweet too.. I ran that combo in a 69 charger RT....

In regards to the Titan.. Hello!!! Can anyone possibly make a butt uglier truck??? The Avalanche is admittingly close.. but damn.. that Titan is hideous... might as well beef out a Scion Box and tow with it....

But hey.. opinions are like g-mans... lol

Go test drive a bunch of them.. and what ever you do.. don't buy in the first week.. Regardless of what the sales dork try to throw your way.... if they are worth a damn, you can go back and tell them you want that best offer they were begging you to sign last thursday... If they don't want to give it to you, walk... they will buckle.. and if they don't go somewhere else.

That lifetime warrenty does interest me tho.. anyone know what the catch is??? What doesn't it cover and is it prorated??? Cus I can tear up a dodge in less than a year if I'm getting free engines and trannys... those guys would be trying to buy me off after two years... LOL

I'm switching out a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer SUV 4x2 V6 (4.3L) for a Toyota Tundra Truck V8 (4.7L) 4x4 (Unfortunately without Shaft's Cow power. Those are classics that are impossible to find these days

). Possibly getting the Tundra day after tomorrow if it passes my mechanic's test.

That way I look more MACHO in a truck!!
