I use the X-tools bull nose pliers, they cut through braid like it is nothing but they are a little pricey and they are really bulky but they float :D

:D I use a buck knife too and I dont even hunt but it is a really nice knife

I also have used the xtools pliers in saltwater and after a year of a lot of use they didnt rust and i droped them in the water a few times
i was demonstrating their floating ability to some one once and i dropped it in and it shot strait down i was really embarassed for about 5 seconds until they cam floating back up again

Just about any sharp edge will cut braid very well. The trick it to pull both the tag end and the main line end tight. Then cut. if you leave the tag end hanging limp, then it's very tough to cut.

Those little Cuticle scissors that they sell at Rite-Aid work like a charm.

If I don't have them in my bag-- then the Kershaw pocket knife does the job almost as well......... Just needs some more delicate cutting.

I use lister bandage scissors they are made to cut through fabric and thread and the best part $1.70 each. You will find these in a drugstore next to bandages and first aid equipment.

Cheers!

I found some serrated craft scissors at the dollar store. They have worked great for years.
I tried the nail clippers, they work for a few cuts and then there were some huge gaps on the cutting surface, now I can't cut my toe nails off cleanly without biting them :(
I had to come back...I know...

I use the bandage scissors also. They're cheap and easy to replace. I actually carry two in case I drop one in the water.

As for the guys that use heat ie. lighters to cut line: Do you think that the smell from melting can carry into the water? Or does it wash off right away?

I use the Fiskars scissors with the small blades, but the larger rubberized handles. They are spring loaded, but lock closed. They work good when new, but I wear a pair out pretty much every year.

Think I might get one of the Zap-It's that Big Daddy Blue mentioned, and give it a whirl....

Stainless anglers scissors by Edge World. Work great on braid and mono. Lower priced than the "names", but very good quality and durable.

I bought a set of Rapala scissors/needlnose pliers. They came with a nice belt clip and the scissors work great with 65# braid. I think they are stainless so they shouldn't rust...they were around 10-15 bucks for the set...

Stainless Steel Surgical Scissors they can get soaking wet. I leave them on my console, 2 years, cut like new.
