800 lb wire, a little tough to tie a polamer knot, but once you get it done, you can walk those fish across the water and have them in the boat in no time. Also very slim chance on losing a $45 bait. Hope this helps!!!

I use 20-25lb Floro depending on the clarity and application.

Re: Swimbait line question
Okay I lied on my previous post, I throw my Hudds on 4 lb mono. Its a bit tricky to chuck those baits on a snoopy pole, but it can be done, seriously it can be done, as long as you work on your timeing with the zebco push button reel. The 1:2000 ratio gives them swimbaitss the perfect presentation, real slow, and thats what them fish want.
Im actually working right now on developing a line of similar poles that i use, im gonna call them the "Short Stack Hudd Throwing Power Pole", kind of catchy if you ask me. They are going to have a button on them that light up in either green or red, that way on them slow swimbait throwing days you can play "Light Sabers" with your partner, its up to you guys on who is master yoda and Darth Vador, along with a few other special features that I cant disclose at this time.
So mr Smith, I hope I have answered your question and im telling you that 4 lb line is crazy, it will deffinately help you catch more fish swimbait fish and you my friend will be ahead of the game.
Another trick I use is soak them Swimbaits in Mona Vie, use the power of the amazon

Re: Swimbait line question
Terry use 25lb seagar or p-line flourocarbon. There are a lot of secrets about throwing those swim baits. PM me and I will try to explain. Its allot about position, current direction, ambush points, and triggering a bite by deflection or hopping it off the bottom. Its a reaction bait and should be fished as such. I have been throwing swim baits when they were called AA tuna lures before sassy shads. I will get you on some swim bait fish at the delta, clear lake, or Folsom. I think you might be getting steered wrong in here. Check out fish chris's web sight to rig it and get started, and whatever you do. Dont throw it on braid, you will donate it.

Re: Swimbait line question
G I am on a killer swim bait bite at folsom right now. Well 3 fish swim bait fish a day anyway. It would be perfect for the tubes. The fish are up on shallow ambush points and spook really easy. Would work in a tube, the fish all know my CF # and run for cover. Lets get rip to set something up....

Re: Swimbait line question
Just stick to the big game 20 or 25 for the hudd if you're comfortable tossing big baits with that line. Tons of guys use the big game. I really don't see any real advantage Flouro would have over mono for swimbaits. It's not as if you need a whole lot of feel to chuck an 8" bait. If a fish eats it, you're going to know regardless of the line you're using. I would also think there is more of a chance of the hooks pulling out with flouro because it has little to no stretch, mono should help them stay stuck. That's just my opinion though. Now go stick some pigs brotha.

Re: Swimbait line question
Yeah I will call,
Swimbait bait hasnt peaked yet, My favorite time is pre- and post spawn in a couple of months. I have some other baits you are going to want to try. If you can pick up some bait smiths in chartruse shad, some money minnows, for the smaller follow up baits. Then some hudds ROF 12 and 5, and a triple trout. A go-to minnow and a lucky craft california and thats all you will need. I dont throw the 16 to much but it has its use.
