our sport lost another good man

though most people on here dont know him Gary Shepherd passed wed. night after 12 yrs fighting cancer. one of the original members of the folsom bass club ( primarily folsom prison employees) avid bass fisherman, though due to illness was not able to compete any longer.I'll miss him . we all will.

Sorry to hear that. Gary was a great guy and I was lucky enough to draw him on Folsom many years ago in a WCB Pro am. Didn't know Gary was sick. You are right he was a good man.

thank you all for your kind words. and KB he spoke of you often when talking about the fun he had bass fishin. he'd say " I drew this cocky -kid who turned out to be a great guy and a great fisherman", His other favorite story was on clearlake when the boat took on water (up to their armpitts)and " this kid fishing the same tourney , stopped and towed us in . I think he also won that tourny . his name was Gary Dobyns I believe have you heard of him son ? does he still fish? "
