Time to start saying Good Bye!!! :^(
Time to start saying Good Bye!!! :^(
All,
Well, as some of you know my military career has come to an end after 13 years. I am a little sad about leaving behind a family I have known since 1995, but my physicial limitations prevent me from continued service. I do have a new career lined up to start in Aug in PA.
So I plan on taking the summer off to drive my new truck and get lost in this country I have defended and have yet to see. I have some plans in the works and places/events I'm gonna see along the way. But, as always the "Huckleberry" has lots of free time listed. I will head to the unknown the first part of June.
I have met some of my best friends/fishermen on this site and to those I thank you for letting this "Semi-Pro Co-Angler" be apart of your adventures on and off the water.
18 months ago, I only dreamed of meeting some of the true professionals of West Coast Bass Fishing Community and now they are part of my daily life. Wow, dreams really do come true.
There are friends I will keep for the rest of my life and they know who they are, others I wish we can keep in touch. I will be stopping by from time to time to check in.
I wish every member of WB.com the best in all thier adventures and if you ever get to the East Coast (shhh...those a bad words), please look me up.
Thanks for being the BEST fisherman in the world and helping this "Lil Kid" along his journey called Bass Fishing.
You can all reach me at bassmaggs@yahoo.com Let's stay in touch

Hope the trip back to PA is a good one. Remember, the internet works from the East Coast as well as out here so we're hoping you'll be able to touch base with us and keep looking in on the site.
In fact, ya know we own the rights to EasternBass.Com also. Maybe we can get some of the former left coast transplants to the east coast to get that site fired up, hahaha.

Don't forget to hook up your new boat before you leave
Man, who's going to net my fish for me now?
We need to go catch a couple of toads at CL before you leave so you have something to show your new bass fishing friends to make them jealous......

sTony,
Dont think the idea hasn't crossed my mind. It has many times. Wow, that would be great. I will be checkin in on my West Coast Family a lot!!!
JamesH,
Of course buddy. My schedule is "always" open now that I'm a bum. Still need to land that first Swimbait fish. I will be on CL Saturday so please leave some toads behind for me.

Sorry to hear about your shortened career. Thank you for your service.
As sTony said, the internet works both ways. Keep in touch. We won't think less of you because you're on the Right Coast.

Safe journeys to you Maggs, and yeah, what sTony said.. the Internet helps keeping tabs and keeping in touch pretty easy these days. Hope you get your first SB fish at CL, but even if not, they work in places other than California too ya know

Maggs, just wanted to say thanks for your dedication. It is awesome what our service men do for us. I feel humbled and honor by your commitments that allow my family and me the freedom to live like we do. THANK YOU
Re: Todd
Wow, Thank you everyone. That is what makes this site and bass fishing such a great tradition.
It is very hard to say good bye to my miltary family but if I cant perform my job 100% for 100% of the time, then the military made the right call and I can't do that at this point.
bighandsnate...thanks
eagle...i will keep your offer open. Thanks for the invite!
CN...Thanks for your words.
TTCal...I will be stopping to say my p's and q's
Smile n Jax...thanks
Dewayne...thanks for showing me how fast those Rangers can fly...sorry i had to boat that spot first (WNNC '06)
Again, WB is the premire outlet for fishing knowledge and Im sure gonna take what i have learned here and on the water and pound the crap out of the East Coast criers....

Re: Todd
Maggs, it was mighty difficult for me also to leave after 26 years in the Navy..One of the greatest things to happen to me was also finding this web site and getting to meet a lot of the fantastic people that post here..It sure makes retirement a lot easier to take, except for all the money bass fishing costs..
