I'd like to offer up photography services, if that isn't already covered? I can shoot on the water during the fishing period, as well as launch and awards... let me know?

There is no membership required to Vail Lake for this event. It is all about having a great time giving back to those that have put their lives on the line for us!

Mike Nemec is going to e-mail me the entry forms (Mike I did not get the forms yet) and then I will post them on the National Bass West website and I am going to need assistance posting them here since I have never done that before.

Guys and gals - we REALLY need to get on board with this and help out!!! This is such a worthy cause, and a great opportunity to give back to some of those who were shot, blown up, or otherwise wounded while defending our rights to go out to play!

I just got off the phone with Mike and am ALL IN. I'm taking my boat and camera gear and will be taking a couple of hero's out to have a great day, and hope you guys will do the same... it is such a little thing to be able to give back just a little and make their lives a bit better.

PLEASE - Mike needs a LOT of boaters still... make it happen. Here's a link to the entry form on the NBW web site: http://www.nationalbasswest.com/file/img/scan.pdf

PLEASE folks - help out if you possibly can??? I know there are some tournaments that weekend, including the final R7 tournament on Sunday (which I'll be fishing), but try to make the time to give a little back?

Also, please contact any members of local bass clubs you know and ask them to consider it? This is such a worthwhile cause!

Here's the post from Mike in another thread for reference:
I know Lynne Peterson from NBW posted about the Wounded Warrior tournament last week. At the present time we have 75 service members and will reach our maxium of 100 by the end of the week. Most of the guys have been wounded during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. At the present time we have maybe 20 boats We need at least 50 boats. Were planning on 2 service members per boat and need your help to make this a day to remember for all involved. I think this is a small way to say "Thank You", how often do you get to take a "HERO" fishing. This tournamnt costs nothing to enter. Just you and your boat. The tournament has many great sponsors as Lynne posted.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 951-775-0928,or email me at michaeljnemec@yahoo.com. Entry forms are available at the National Bass West website www.nationalbasswest.com

Please help and TAKE A HERO FISHING.

Thanks in advance for your support.
Mike Nemec

Pending wife approval I'll help out. My '87 Skeeter is on the small side for three, but I'm good to go.

Do I loan them the gear?

I fish San Diego lakes so the boat might get nixed huh?

How are you doing on boats?? I am trying to work out coming down there (my rods will be in transit from Texas back home, so I will be short) - I'll have a couple of swimbait rods and a couple of spinning outfits.

I want to do this and can probably get a couple more. Is there a decent hotel or place to stay somewhere near?

Just got off the phone the the Warrior foundation, this is the group I'm working with to take these young service members fishing. Their comment to me was " this is the largest response", (from military members) they have ever had for a event. We are at 100 guys and WE NEED MORE BOATS.(15 to be exact) Please come out and help. You won't be dissappointed. Good fishing, Good Company, and Good Food. After the tournament we are going to have a 4 hour jackpot tournament for the boaters that want to stick around. Also, we are going to have a raffle with the top prize being a VAIL LAKE MEMBERSHIP. C'mon guys, don't leave a HERO on the dock!

I don't have a fax machine. Can I email a pdf or tif of my entry form to you? Or would you prefer snail mail?

Hi, I just signed up and e-mailed Mike a copy of the receipt they e-mailed me.

Any more questions I have my cell with me today- sorry about that.

I went to check out the launch ramps yesterday (and to see what I could see!!!) and am glad I did. The first turnoff to the lake was only to the campgrounds. They sent me further down Hwy 79 to the second entrance. That giant bump might cause me some problems as the van is REAL low at the tow bar!?!! I hope not.

Thanks,
Michael

FYI,
The launching facilities we are using at Vail next weekend will be lengthened by 10-12 feet before the tournament on the 31st. we will be abe to launch 3 at a time with no problems. We will go over the launching procedures during our pre-tournament meeting the morning of the tournament. Remember we are having a valet service for launch and pick-up, with all guys who are experianced with launching procedures. This tournament is going to be a blast and so rewarding.
