I'm kind of happy I went from avid football fan to hardly ever watch during the strike. My Sundays got filled with such more interesting things to to, football couldn't compare. Oh, and I'll see you in the sports section

The strike (I think it was two strikes ago now) left such a bad taste in my mouth that I've never gravitated back. I was a die-hard Rams fan from the time I was a little boy (still have an autographed picture of Vince Ferragamo and the whole 1970 team with Merlin, Rosy, Deacon, etc.), but as soon as they announced they were leaving So. Cal. I hated them and became a 9'ers fan. Once the strike hit, I lost interest and turned my attention elsewhere.

I have a pic with Vince Ferragamo and Pat Haden and my brother and I when I was a little one and lived in Anahiem.My dad was good friends with thier equipment manager and we used to hang at the practice camp. I have an autographed ball with the entire 1979 team. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Back on the subject, our teams don't suck they are just rebuilding, give them a chance, you might see some good things come out of both teams this year. There is something I like about O'sullivan, you'll see.

When I was station overseas – I had to drive two hours one way on Monday nights to watch a football game that was played on Sunday and then drive back to make morning formation or be AWOL. I would end up being tired all day. The bad part of this was that the outcome of the game would be on Armed Forces Radio or the Starts and Strips (Military News Paper). So Monday day everyone knew what I was going to do and would try to tell me the score – a bunch of cruel dudes. All I wanted was to get back stateside to watch a live game.

And when I do get back they go on strike – not months after I get back but on the very same week I get back in country!

Pro football lost a real fan! To keep this on fishing – I now fish!

I really was turned off also, both by the strike(way back) and the fact that it is nothing more than big business anymore. Drugs, enhanceing steroids, etc also has made it not worth watching anymore. So the fish are taking the hits, each and every week. Lot's more fun anyway, than sitting staring at the boob tube. Bill K
