What are these trying to imitate?

Post by Jason C. »

http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageZGB-ZFTG.html#

I was cruizing through Tackle Warehouse and saw a "Goby Sled" by Buck Eye Lures. I had no idea what you would use with it, Im guessing its just another way to drag a football jig with a little more finesse and no football head lol. Here is the "Goby Sled" http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpage ... om=fishdel

Its just a little stange to me, anyone ever fished these heads before? H-M-M-M I got ideas for these things already!!! QUICK DELETE DELETE DELETE!!!

Shaped kinda like an ark, with a screw, Kinda like a shake head with more weight.

Jason I like how you persist! Cut the weed guard off a jig you have the same thing.

Look closely G, there is a spring keeper on there! And I would like to know how some people would fish those heads.

Also what is a "Goby" trying to imitate? A Tad-Pole or something? And how do you fish a "Goby" style bait?

Jason Gobies and Sculpins act pretty much the same. All our reservoirs are full of them and the bass really key on them in the late fall.

Jason,

Sometimes you scare me...

A "Goby" is trying to imitate a Goby...a primary food source for Lake Erie Smallmouths (another invasive species that loves to eat Smallmouth eggs-fortunately the Smallmouth love to eat them 8) )

Gobie type baits have been a very long well kept secret by foothill anglers and Delta anglers as well. I didn't really know how popular they were till I added Big Bites Gobies to a couple different stores and watched them sell each fall and winter. Carolina Rigged, Deadly in the lakes!
