So simple you can shake a stick at it and save ALOT of money ! :D

Take a GOOD Heavy Gauge coatwire hanger (They are getting harder to find nowadays - but hit up a good "dive" GoodWill store - and you will find some wire hangers there.

Make a spreader out of it with very cheap swivel snaps -twisted into where you want the eye of your spreader to be your center with two twist using heavy duty pliers. Then rim the ends about 11"- 13" or better from the center..... leaving enoufgh to put on another cheap snap swivel at each end and then wrap the coat wire back around 2x the end eye with a good pair of nose pliers again - and you just made a Spreader !!

From there run #20 to #40 test line at your choosing. Have one end of the spreader 30" or more -- and the other side around 16".

NOW -- Here is where it all comes to play depending on what bay you are trolling in For Depth control.

If Shallow -- Run any 6' crank bait on the short leader -- and a White Hair Razor with a Hyper Tail at the end in 1/2 oz. (When Shallow do not use any ore than #20 on the crank as it will run higher the more heavyier the line you are using on your spreader.)

Medium depth over deep water -- Run a 6'-8' BB Rebel on the long leader and a 1 1/2 oz. White Hair Razor on the short leader (Reverse for controlling depth) with a Hyper Tail.

Same Same for going deeper with a deeper BB Rebel in the bays like Indian. -- But that is mostly for the bright mid-day.

No matter what -- 89% of the time (+/-) -- The Linesiders will eat that Hair Razor !! -- So just use what ever plug you have in the box to just control the depth that you wish to fish ... It can even be an old DD22 instead of an expensive Broken Back Plug..

I used to even run two Cast Masters with the BuckTail Hook on the even 18" leaders and very slow troll. Or shorten the short leader and use a 2 oz. Hair Razor for depth and the Kast Master for flash if durring a storm/muddy water/dark night. -- And give the Kast Master a longer leader by 16" or more.

In no time at all you will figure it out yourself in watching them come in on the Razor and not the Diving Plug while watching your graph and anticipating the strikes. 8)

~Also the last bay on the Marina side where the water pipes/sewer pipes are that run across it before hitting the Marina . Money !!

Just remember that it comes up steeply shallow before it drops over the Abyss where they stage when not up top and it is tidal influenced for them to stage there.

Also there is not gona be nearly as much Shad in there this year as in years past. The fish will be there for sure come the 2and week of Nov. How long they can chase what bait there is to the warmest bays before they move out will be interesting to see this year.

Cheap, Simple and Easy -- Works like a Charm when trolling in DBay.

Hope that helps you out and please post up your results.

Cheers !!
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
