my transducer came off

Post by spotfin »

I have an old 8 yr old lowrance fish finder and discovered my transducer, which was adhered in my bilge area w/ what looks like epoxy, came undone. should I just get new epoxy from a hardware store and try to reglue it? I have a fiberglass bass boat.
Thanks for any help.

that will work. make sure you clean both including the face of the transducer before you re-epoxy. if you like the reading where it was, you could put it back in the same spot. if it wasnt that great of a place, clean both surfaces and epoxy in the the new place. hint: when mixing epoxy, stir slow so you dont get air bubbles in the epoxy for the best read

Spotfin,
If the transducer is also 8yrs old, i would consider replacing it with a new one, while its come undone. You will see great improvement with your graph.

The new one should fit right into the old hole. just epoxy it back down and be sure there's no air gaps.
