Lookin' forward to it... now that I moved up here to Oakley, I figure I can probably make it wherever it is decided upon (although I REALLY like the idea of the Delta - need LOTS more time on the water!). I'm looking forward to seeing the details and hope that the schedule works out.

Dennis Bramlett won the Rally@ClearLake, it is his choice unless of course he doesn't chime in. Then it falls on the General Membership to pull it together 8)

The real current day purpose of the Winter Nutcase event is to expose us to different waters other than what we fished for the Rall, and most of all to just get the troops together for a day of fishing, fun and food..The person getting the Top Nut award for the Rally is normally the one to select the water for the Winter Nutcase event..Now I can understand our current Top Nuts choice of Clear Lake for the event, but in all honesty I would rather fish another body of water for this event..I think most of the Nutcases would..Last year we had an excellent day on Tulloch, I am still carping about getting beat out by an ounce for Big Nut for the event..If the current Top Nut opts for Clear Lake again, it might not turn out to be the event we would all enjoy seeing..Would I attend, sure, if I can find a ride..

If'n he wans it at Clear Lake, he best get on the organizing band wagon or it will probably end up at the Delta (the original Nutcase destiniation  ) as that seems to be where those currently will to "organize" it wan't it to be 8)

The winner of the last Nutcase event (Nutcase Classic) gets to choose the location of the next Nutcase event. If there was a Spring Nutcase event the winner of the Winter would have got to chose the location of that event. The Nutcase Classic (summer event) was combined with the Western Rally @ Clear Lake (i.e. Western Rally and Nutcase Classic)

Lets see, if I remember last year we did this until Guy stepped up and took charge. This isn't sanctioned by WB.

I went out on a limb last year (and got bit by a Gator :D ) trying to push for a date, but I would suggest since we haven't heard from the reining Top Nut as to where the event will be and it's about that time, SOMEONE :?: with the time and skills should step up. I'll help any way I can, if needed.

My vote would be for the Delta because of the low water conditions everywhere else.

I'm looking forward to it, these things are a blast.

Got a pm too and have heard from Wolfman, so kind of sitting on my hands till I hear what the out-come of Summer Classic winner has got to say ! Gator said he's got till the 30th of Nov to speak up.

But if no bite from him.

Wolfe and I would be obliged too toss the hat in the ring to help organize it all together, along with the generosity of all (including LL's) that would come together too help make up a Wizz-Bang Winter Nut Case Classic.

My vote is for Russo's on the Delta early Jan (3rd)????????? or ?????

So till then. what say the general Nut Cases ?

I think IMHO that Clear Lake would be a little tough for a one day'er ? but i could be out of touch with reality

YEAH ? It's ME AGAIN !!!!! SO WHAT :?:

Marty,

The nutcase is generally a two fish per session tournament so it is essentially a big fish event. Better bring in your best fish if you have eyes on winning.

The winter nutcase classic has been held on a variety of ponds. The Delta, Folsom, Berryessa, New Melones, McClure and so on. Anywhere it's occurred its been something only a true 'nutcase' would show up for as it's always darned cold out there.

To answer an earlier question about who's a nutcase, anybody posting on this forum is a nutcase. Anyone going out in early January and braving the elements is a true nutjob. That's how the term nutcase came to be. First one was on the Delta, in frigid conditions. We've been out there taking ice off of our guides as we fish.

The tradition of who gets to pick the location has been a tough one to work through since the concept started. The winner of the Rally generally got to pick but in this case we haven't heard from the winners yet and the time deadline has past us by. Winners of the winter nutcase should likely be allowed to pick the location of the spring nutcase but we've had a much harder time putting that event together as spring is when a lot of folks are previously committed to fish other tournaments. The turnout is substantially lower for those spring events. And the Rally is usually at a pre-determined place, Clear Lake, so the spring nutcase winner doesn't generally get the option of picking the next location. It's also a bummer when the winner picks the same pond he won his event on. Kind of sets everyone up to have to keep going to the same ponds all the time rather then moving it around. Which is what we always tried to do, bring the nutcase to places close to the users that frequent this forum.

Hey, hey, HEY - Nuttin' wrong with that my BrothA!!! I was a VTO for HBC1, and it was a cool experience.

Sounds like the deadline has passed, and as Gator previously indicated he is claiming declaratory rights... let's get the details ironed out so that folks can plan accordingly!!! I'll do what I can to help out... just let me know what I can do Gator?
