They are manpulating supply with refinery shutdowns. Manipulate back. Fill up and don't buy anymore until you are empty. This is the price they want so I doubt we will see it spike too much.

The oil companies jack us every winter by saying their shutting down refineries for "routine maintenance." And be prepared to pay an additional 12-cents per gallon state tax that's currently being proposed in the state budget - the budget should be voted on over the weekend.

Exxon Mobil posting record earnings for 2008, over 45 billion...They beat the previous yearly profit record, making them the most profitable company in the world.

BTW the previouse holder of this record was also Exxon Mobil from 2006 until they broke that record in 2007 and now they broke there own record again.

45 BILLION in profit and they say they can't afford to lower gas prices!!!!!!

Somebody will come along and tell you its all about supply and demand. They will also claim gas prices should fall next month since it takes that long for crude prices of today to take effect. B.S.

A couple months ago gas was down to $1.50 a gallon and for no reason it has risen to the amount were paying now with no significant increase in crude prices.
This is the price they want us to pay and will remain this high until the country collapses.

Gee, since worldwide demand is way down and the cost of crude is in the dumper I am getting the feeling that the oil industry and politicians are just manipulating the price at the pump to hold profits up. NAWW! That couldn't be the reason. Maybe it is the hurricane last week that knocked out the refineries, oh there was no natural disaster recently.

Now the state wants to add an additional 12 cent tax and the fed's want to add 10-15 cents since americans are driving less so the federal govt. is making less on gas revenues!!!
