Advice on 6" Basstrix hook
I've narrowed it down to a few and would appreciate feedback and experience with hooks. I'm looking at the Falcon Bait-Jerk Superline, Owner Beast, and Blade-Runner Insert. Right now I'm fishing mostly open water so the Blade-Runner is tempting, but I've read about problems inserting them and/or getting the Basstrix to run straight. I wonder if the Falcon Bait-Jerk is still the preferred, least hassles hook.

I like the owner beast hook, they are just a little pricey at 11 bucks for 3. (10/0) but the are good hooks and have worked well for me so far.

BPS has a hook where the top side of the weight is flat which makes the bait swim better.. I forget the name of them but I might swing by there and find out.

For open water I really like the Blade Runner inserts...I recommend you at least give them a try. 1/4oz. works best for me but when it really blowing like this past weekend I up the weight to 3/8oz.
Inserting them hasnt been a problem, just size it up on the outside to determine where you want the eye and the hook to come out making sure the keeper is going to be sticking out the bottom. Once you got this figured out make a small slit in the middle of the back behind where the hook is going to end up, slide the weight through the hole and push the line tie out the top of the nose. Then push the keeper thru. I cut off the trialer hook ring on most occasions. I like to pre-rig them at home where you can take a little more time then I super glue the eye and the keeper to them in place for as long as possible.

I do exactly what Jeff said with the Blade Runners. It works very well. I use the 3/8oz 4/0 Hook with the 6" Bass trix. Just keep some Mend-It handy so you can patch it back up after a few fish.

Sea horse jig head from do-it molds. They run perfect. Not as fancy as a blade runner, but I dont think the fish care.
