Royalties or under contract???...

Do the Pros get paid royalties for representing or designing a rod or lure for a company, or do they just get paid by being under contract with the company?...

I am under the assumption that it would be a contract situation for most. However, it is possible if their name is association with a product like Skeet Reese and Lamiglas there might be a royalty situation.
