this question has been coming up alot lately. I'm trying to decide on the dobyns 735 or 736...but powell makes a good frog rod as well that is cheaper...at least that is what I've been told.

+1 for the powell 735......more than enough power to pull the toads from anything!! great rod....and not sponsored by them either!!

Try the Dobyns 736C, its an awesome Frog Rod, and also is excellent for a vareity of other applications.

You need to hold both of those rods in your hand to make a fair comparison. The Dobyns rod is light and MORE balanced.
If you can afford it the Dobyns rod is the way to go!
