on board charger and battery ?

i have a newer minn kota 3 bank on board charger, and im running 3 series 31 agm batteries... can i plug in the charger and leave it connected for an extended period of time [ days or weeks ] without hurting the charger or batteries ? and should i charge it before going fishing, or after fishing ? thanks guys

i have the minnkota 330, when i get home i plug it in.
and don't unplug it till next week when i go out.
never had any problems. and mine is 10 years old.

Your unit should automatically turn off when your batteries are charged. This is standard with almost every batterey charger that is currently made.

Plugged in for 20 hours or 20 days, it should be just fine.

I left it plugged in from time to time and never had any problems in over a year. Recently, I've just been plugging it for about 6 hours when I get off the water and the night before I go out. They both work

The after market chargers will usually say it does battery conditioning...So with those Its seems to be okay to leave plugged it...

Some cheaper/smaller units don't make that claim and I would unplug it after a day....and then rehook up the night before fishing.
