Bass Tackle for Stripers

Post by crankster123 »

The water I fish for stripers is brackish, but probably more salt water than fresh. I have grown tired of using my big saltwater setup for things such as jerkbaits, and was wondering if it is ok to use normal bass tackle for these conditions. And if so, what should I do to care for the reels to prevent corrosion?

Yes you can. When your finished each day you need to close your drags. TURN ON all the way. Spray with a "little" CRC SUPER LUBE, AND WIPE OFF all of the surfaces. Then turn your drags off.

You can find the CRC at any ACE hardware.
