Elite Series Marshall Program
Elite Series Marshall Program
Anybody out there been a Marshall for an Elite series event? It sounds like a really cool opportunity, thought I would see if any of my fellow area anglers have participated and hear what their experience was like and if its worth it.
Thanks,
MIKE

It sure isn't worth paying $100 a day to just watch someone (who knows who it might be) fish. BASS just trying to make a a buck anyway they can.

You mean you have to pay to watch them fish?

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
I think it's $100 for a guarteed 2 days with a 3rd day option for the first x amount of marshalls that signed up, along with some gear/tackle that sounded like it basically covered close to the $100 bucks. Some will think it's worth it and others will not, depends on what you would be looking to get out of the opportunity.

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
onewalker is right it's $100 for 2 day.
i've fished the delta for 35 years and this is a first
for me. i plan on watching what what these guys
look for and how they pick it apart. i'm on the waiting
list for day 3. it would be nice to sit behind
Reese or Martins but i really don' care.

Jim has the right idea here. With only the pro fishing it makes the playing field more fair and the sport more real. Heck it cost over that to go to a football game and sit in a nose bleed seat. Have fun Jim!!!minnkotaman wrote:onewalker is right it's $100 for 2 day.

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
It is definatly worth it just in freebies. Not to mention the fact you get to ride along with some guys doing this full time. Heck, most everyone will leave with knowledge on something they've never known. The marshall rule has really helped the sport progress to a true Pro event..Keeps the field from complaining about a co, and the marshall will nix any chance of cheating..

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
thanks johnny, i see you finally caught a fish bigger than mine.
what i'm worried about is knowing what i know, is keeping
my mouth shut. that time of year it should be spawn and pre
spawn, i'm looking forward to it.

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
I was at Lake Amistad last year when the Elite Series was there and talking to some of the Marshall's they really enjoyed the opportunity and would do it again if given the chance.
That being said, I signed up for the Delta and got all 3 days. I am really looking forward to it and hoping to get paired with some super anglers!! $100 to watch the best in the business fish the Delta (my home water) for 3 days; ANY TIME!!!!!
John.

Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
I signed up a bit late but got assigned two days for sure and a possibility of the 3rd. Really looking forward to be apart of this and getting the chance to see what they do on the delta. If you think about it at $50.00 a day it is a very good way to learn the water from their veiwpoint. Heck you spend a ton of money to go with a guide while he tells you what to throw and where - why not learn from some of the best why they go to a spot and how they pick their baits. I feel fortunate to have been chosen. Just my 2 cents worth. Dave
Re: Elite Series Marshall Program
how do you get a chance to do this? I never heard of it before.
sorry for being ignorant but I will check BASS site and see what I can find.
thanks for any info.
