Skeet on cover of Parade Magazine...

Post by bassinbillmc »

Skeet is on the cover of Parade, which is a weekly inset in the Sunday edition of the S.F. Chronicle. Picture of him is classic - black and yellow everywhere. The article is called "Why He's The Reel Deal."

In it he talks about mental toughness and making decisions on the water (tough break today - losing by one ounce). I was fortunate enough to fish him with him a few years ago at the U.S. Open and saw first-hand what the article talks about.

It also touched on his rivalry with KVD. If you go to Parade.com his picture is on the home page. Just click on it to read the article.

I saw it too. I think that it's really great that bass fishing is getting that kind of awareness. Great article! GO SKEET!!

Yup. Parade is an insert piece in most metropolitan newspapers.

Great story and coverage of the sport. Thanks for the heads up. I would not have seen it as it was already in the recycle bin.

Yeah, I thought it was a great story and the reporter did an excellent job of talking about what occurs during a tournament. Glad that you guys who didn't see it got a chance to read it.

I know that when I fished with Skeet at the Open we got to the ramp at 3:00 AM, yes 3:00 AM. We were the first in the water and used that time to get ready for the day.

Same thing when I fished with Cliff Pace in the Central Open we moored off to Gary Klein, who had been there the whole time rigging rods and getting his deck set up. He had the first spot on the front corner of the dock. Very interesting seeing a guy like that set up let alone get to talk to him a little.
