Trailer Bearings Help

Post by Morgan »

I have an 07 EZ Loader trailer, dual axle, that has hubs with a silver disk marked 'Trailer Buddy Axle' over a rubber part that containg the grease. One of the disks is all the way out, one is all the way in, and the other two are kinda in the middle. The owners manual doe not show any pictures or describe this.
Is there some sort of zirk fitting under this disk to apply grease?
Does it pop off?
How do you add grease?
How much?
What kind?
Morgan

Hopefully the images below will show up

My guess is pop it off hit it with the grease gun until you hear air not too much grease wipe off excess. Tho I don't know the difference the bearing buddy and the trailer (axel) buddy).....Blue grease marine grade...good for the prop shaft too.

the buddy cap should just pop off. under it is a zerk fitting. pump just enough grease to move the blue ring out a short distance, outside the hub. do not over pump the fitting as you will blow out the inside wheel seal. if its leaking grease out the rear seal of the hub, replace seal.
hope that helps

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Didn't want to try and pry it off and cause a really big problem.
