The fourtrex hands down. I have a motorguide digital 82 and it is the worst tm i have ever owned. I have been contemplating writing a letter to motorguide to voice my displeasure with this product. I have a list of at least 12 things that have gone wrong and existing problems. It is poorly put together. I used a fourtrex on a friends boat and it was sweet.

Terrova! You've got to try out the I-pilot to understand how cool it really is. Mark my words, once the mainstream bass guys catch on, GPS integrated motors will take over the industry.

Re: What TM to get?
I've owned a Minn Kota Powerdrive for years. Super. I just switched to a Terrova 101 and installed the iPilot myself. I put the Powerdrive on another boat. When I pull up on a spot and I'm not ready I just hit the electronic anchor and it holds me there until I'm rigged and ready
I can then move along the bank until I'm in the correct position and hit the electronic anchor a work that spot without paying any attention to the trolling motor.
I can record three track up to 2 miles long and the iPilot will work those tracks by itself in either direction. Get a snag? No problem, press pause, get the snag out, move ahead of where you were and hit resume and keep recording or following a previous path.
Point the motor where you want to go and hit auto pilot. It takes you there using a GPS plotter, not a magnetic reading. This means it compensates for winds and currents. Of course nothing beats an extremely stron wind or current, however, this thing is powerful. It pulls my 21 ft pontoon along at nearly 4 mph and make headway against white caps.
Very well designed.
